Time to recruit deputy Gamemaster?
I would love to reach the diamond age and beyond in this game but at the pace the game has grinded to I fear this will not happen before the biological activity in my real world body succumbs to old age. Perhaps Enrique should consider recruiting a non player deputy gamemaster to cover the periods he is unable to process turns?

Re: Time to recruit deputy Gamemaster?
Multi GM games tend to become the norm as it becomes more complicated and the turn time begins to increase. However I wouldn't suggest it to do the orders while Enrique is away. Rather the deputy could begin by resultifying the "little things" that would not beget Enrique's time, simple actions without large community effecting implications. I imagine there is a lot of stuff, such as economy and exploration that can be very time consuming but is only a small amount portion of your turn and without large implications on your neighbours. This would give Enrique less work to do per turn and could generally increase the pace of the game, so instead of a GM to do all the work when Enrique is away, they share the workload. I have no problems with the break, in fact it will probably increase turn pace by giving Enrique a break (kind of like how I'm more efficient when I first get back to school, and then wear out and need the summer vacation!)

Re: Time to recruit deputy Gamemaster?
were i not already a player, i would have gladly filled the role myself.
I would however, if he is willing of course, like to suggest Vladimir as a possible candidate.
On the grounds that
1) he is pretty knowledgeable about history, politics and economics
2) He seems to have the respect and trust of most of us through facebook,
3) can write fluent English and is not a player already.

I concur with Naagi. Amauvala is Enrique's vision, he is the one with supreme authority but having someone to lighten the load with number-crunching, minor actions and such would work.
But Vladimir? Heavens, no! Vladimir as an Amauvalan deity would be terrifying indeed.

Perhaps, but Amauvala is a patchwork quilt of the visions of all the players who run nations and tribes within it.
As for a possible deputy GM, we'll wait for Enrique's input.

Vladimir is an interesting choice indeed.
Problem is only that he seems to be romantically interested in Avanti.
During the summer break, I'll suggest you'll up the wiki.

I thought he had a girlfriend already?
