Trade goods and other resources
I have a teensy-weensy bit of a suggestion, regarding resources of the less noticeable kind. While there are already indicators for different food sources and construction materials such as wood and stone, I'd like to have also some stat for the other types of resources that could be useful for knowing exactly what sort of useful stuff our civs have lying around. Especially when we're talking about trade; what interesting goods do we have that we can sell, and what do we lack and thus have to import?
I believe even a small and seemingly insignificant resource can have a huge impact on how a civilisation defines itself. Salt? Dyes? Pepper bushes? Funny birds with colourful plumage? Saffron flowers?
Or do players have the freedom to define these things themselves?

Re: Trade goods and other resources
We will have general categories: Luxury items, art, spices, etc...
I won't be bogged with 15 trillion goods again.

I'm not suggesting that they'd be quantified, just if they are available or not, something like this:
Village X
Population: 2 units of farmers
Access to: wool, medicinal herbs, iron ore
Or something like that.
I'm just asking because I feel I don't know what I'm allowed to entitle my people with. What kind of clothes are they wearing? Are they wearing clothes at all? Should I assume they have access to some sort of fruit if I want them to make wine?
Things like that. No rules involved, just fluff. Or should I take liberties with it and just make stuff up, within reasonable limits?

If I am going to include such a function, I would do it in the Bronze Age. In the Bronze Age, there will be provinces, usually with city hubs, and the settlements will get auxiliary functions, to provide the cities with livelihood.

Fair enough.
